Levellr will allow me to inspire those with dreams they may think are impossible - but they're not! You can do anything if you put your mind to it! If I can do just one thing to push you in the right direction I will be so happy.
A bit about me: Being a jockey. That was it from day one, the sole ambition. But when I was trying to break into the sport, female jockeys weren't the norm, it was quite the opposite. I'd be lying if I said I didn't nearly give up and walk away from trying to break through a few times. I suppose you could say I'm persistent! And looking back, I'm so pleased I did, not only for myself, but to see the role females are now playing in racing is amazing.
I was shocked and honoured when I received an OBE for my services to horse racing in 2016. All I can hope is it shows any female striving to become a professional in the sport, that they absolutely can. And hopefully they also get some special race days, I certainly won't forget when I became first woman to pass 100 race wins in a season, winning Group 1 races on Dream Ahead and Margot Did, and riding a Royal Ascot Winner in front of thousands. I'm excited that I still get many rides at the biggest occasions as well as be involved in the sport as a pundit. The sport is going through an exciting evolution, and I can’t wait to see more and more women following their dream to become jockeys in the future
I'm excited that I still get to stay around the sport as a pundit and fan. The sport is going through an exciting evolution, and I can’t wait to see more and more women following their dream to become jockeys in the future
