I'm very privileged to have been given the opportunity to captain my country, a position that comes not only with much responsibility, but the opportunity to inspire others, whether cricket fans, players or not. I'm on Levellr to continue driving forward the women's game, and in the process also give back to the Professional Cricketers' Trust, a charity close to my heart.
Representing my country was always a life ambition. It is an honour to put on the England shirt, and a decade since my debut, that feeling of immense pride never changes. I feel privileged to have gone on an amazing journey, along with the women’s game itself. To see its development since the start of my career has been nothing short of incredible and it's so exciting to see where the game could be in another 10 years.
Having started out as a youngster playing mens club cricket in Devon to lifting the 50 over World Cup on home soil in 2017 and achieving over 150 international caps, it's been a lot of fun! I still feel like I have a lot left to achieve in the game, and with a T20 World Cup, a 50 over World Cup, an Ashes series and the chance to compete in the commonwealth games for the first time coming up in 2022, it's set to be a very exciting few years! I owe so much to cricket and all it has given me!
Hopefully I can inspire more young women to take up the game and reach the very top. In a bid to give back a little of what the game has given me, I've chosen to support the Professional Cricketers Trust and the amazing work they do looking after the welfare of current and ex cricketers who come across hard times.
