My first England cap was all the way back in 1999! I find it crazy thinking back to that stage, to the very beginning of my career, and all that lay ahead! Every step was an incredible part of the journey and I feel privileged to have had the career I did in hockey, playing so many games (293 times for GB and England!) and the achievements along the way.
Becoming the youngest female hockey player to represent Great Britain at an Olympics in 2000 was an unthinkable dream. To then go on to win gold in Rio 16 years later makes me especially proud, knowing the hard work and perseverance that I and my teammates put in for so many years. The feeling of taking home medals wherever we went was unbelievable, be it at Commonwealth Games, World Cups, EuroHockey Nations Championships - they are all incredible memories and it was an honour to play my part in those successes.
With all my experience in hockey I would be so happy if I could inspire a new generation of hockey players, help to improve their game and push them to achieve their goals!
